Correction of feeding behavior |
Feeding behavior disorders (bulimia nervosa and anorexia nervosa) are marginal mental diseases manifested as impaired feeding pattern. The are associated with severe disorders in body functions and not only cause dysadaptation but even are life-threatening. According to epidemiological investigations, in the majority of developed countries a trend is evident towards increase in the number of patients suffering from bulimia and anorexia nervosa. Marginal conditions tend to be long-standing and associated with relapsing attacks. When no treatment is provided, they may lead to grave consequences up to the lethal outcome. At LENMEDCENTER, the treatment of patients suffering from bulimia and anorexia nervosa involves normalization of both, mental and feeding, aspects of patient's behavior. Psychiatrists as well as dietitians may take part in drawing-up of treatment programs for such patients. Individual and group psychotherapy is available.
